Facilities
School of Engineering, JNU is equipped with modern infrastructure and equipment required to provide a world class education to its students. It has lecture halls that seat 200 people at a time as well as advanced laboratories equipped with high end personal computers and electronic instruments. We even have our own PCB manufacturing room and a mechanical engineering laboratory with advanced welding equipment.
JNU has its own sporting ground and equipment for both indoor and outdoor activities. The hostels are equipped with high speed Wi-Fi and an attached mess hall. It is located in a focal point in Delhi and has great locational advantage. Students of SoE would greatly enjoy their stay here and would be able to enrich themselves with the available infrastructure.
Advanced Instrumentation Research Facility (AIRF) : AIRF is a specialized research facility which houses about 25 sophisticated state-of-the-art instruments with various supporting/ basic facilities. AIRF activities started from year 2008 onwards. It caters to the interdisciplinary applications in research to all the JNU Science Schools which includes the School of Biotechnology, School of Environmental Sciences, School of Engineering (SoE), School of Life Sciences, School of Physical Sciences and Special Centre for Molecular Medicine, Special Centre for Nano Sciences of JNU, as well as other academic research institutes and private companies/ industries within and outside Delhi. This research facility serves as an academic, research and scientific service provider and facilitator. It also supports inter-disciplinary academic and research activities by conducting through regular workshops and trainings programmes.
The University Science Instrumentation Center is having well equipped workshop with the facilities Since its inception the USIC in JNU has been catering to the needs of the researchers of in-house design/ Development and fabrication of equipment / instruments and attachments for the research laboratories of the university and Science Schools in particular.
