The program aims to provide students with an opportunity to engage in research-oriented projects, gain practical exposure, and develop technical skills under academic guidance from faculty members.

• Duration: 4–6 weeks
• Internship Period: May 15 – July 15, 2026
• Eligibility: Only B.Tech pursuing students

Theme: Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat

The School of Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru University, is organizing National Science Day 2026 to celebrate scientific excellence and recognize the transformative contributions of women in science and technology. The event aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat, highlighting how scientific innovation and inclusive participation accelerate sustainable development.

The programme will be chaired by Prof. Pawan Kumar Kulriya, Dean, School of Engineering, and will feature a distinguished keynote address by Dr. Kaushalya Jhuria, Assistant Professor, IIT Delhi, on “Optical Qubits in Silicon Enabling Quantum Technologies.” The keynote will explore cutting-edge advancements in quantum technologies and their implications for next-generation computing and secure communication systems.

The event includes a series of academic and technical activities designed to foster scientific temperament and student engagement:

• Quiz Competition

• Coding Contest

• Keynote Address on Quantum Technologies

• Projects’ Exhibition

Through interactive competitions and research demonstrations, the programme aims to cultivate analytical thinking, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration among students and researchers.

Coordinated by Dr. G. Renuka Devi and Dr. Kethavath Kranthi Kumar, the event provides a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and celebration of scientific achievements within the academic community.

National Science Day 2026 at JNU is envisioned as a convergence of ideas, inspiration, and innovation—strengthening the role of science and women scientists in building a technologically empowered and self-reliant India.
