Overall Structure of B.Tech. Program

Details: 

The minimum credit requirement for the B.Tech. program is 160 credits accumulated over a span of four years. Optional courses worth no more than 1/3rd of the total credits in a semester can be opted for each semester. The duration of the program is 8 semesters. Broadly, it consists of approximately 7 semesters of undergraduate engineering curriculum followed by approximately a semester for industry internship/dissertation.

The program consists of Humanities and Social Sciences (HS), Basic Sciences (BS), Engineering Foundation (EF), Design and Innovation (DI), Bachelor Core (BC), Bachelor Elective (BE), Open Elective (OE), and Dissertation (DS). The students can collect additional credits through open choice of courses, which will allow them to develop broad inter-disciplinary knowledge base and opportunity to do their post-graduation in non-engineering discipline(s) also.
